This is a beautiful and very shiny, silver metal music box (by SANYO) which shows OUR LADY OF LOURDES (in France) standing in a grotto filled with roses and a little girl, whose selling name was actually Bernadette of Soubirous kneeling at her feet. Mary, the Mother of God, actually appeared to Bernadette 18 times in this Grotto of Lourdes.
The silver music box stands a full 7" tall and is 5" wide and 3" deep. The figure of Mary is 4" tall.
CONDITION: This music box is in wonderful vintage condition. The Sanyo music wind-up player still plays the song, "AVE MARIA" quite nicely. The silver metal music box itself appears to be in its original condition. The finish does appear to show a bit of normal vintage wear near the words "APPARITION of LOURDES. This would make a wonderful gift for Christmas, Birthday, First Communion, etc.
