Sautoir Necklace made selling with Vintage Cobalt Chandelier Crystal, Long, Vintage Tassel, Czech Glass, Royal Blue, Silver, Timeless Trinkets

The 1920's is one of my favorite eras in fashion and the Sautoir necklace was iconic during this period. The Sautoir was a popular necklace that usually had a tassel hanging at the bottom or a large single gemstone pendant. The pendant on this necklace I found at a local antique store, it is cobalt blue glass. *The glass is slightly darker than it photographs, I took many pictures trying to capture it's true dark cobalt color and the light from the window just made it brighter. When held selling in front of the window, it is a brilliant blue. The tassel I hand made. The chain is comprised of Czech glass beads and royal blue cat's eye beads. This is a unique and one of a kind necklace! I made the closure with two lobster claps so that you can wrap them back around and shorten the necklace if you desire to do so. I've included a picture of what it would look like with a double strand. If you wish to not have this feature, please message me and request one clasp only.

Cobalt is a metal, found in copper and nickel ores in many countries. It was discovered in 1742 by a Swedish chemist, Georg Brandt. However, the coloring properties of the ore has been known since very ancient times. It has even been discovered in ancient Babylonian sites. Cobalt glass is any glass that has been combined with small amounts of copper and cobalt to produce a blue appearance. Bristol Blue is one of the most famous types of cobalt blue glass and Fenton's blue carnival glass is a cobalt blue. Years ago I was able to tour the Fenton glass factory, it was amazing!

The necklace on mannequin is 42" long. When double wrapped it is 20" long.
Pendant and tassel measures 6" long.
Please select desired length. I can make this 38", 40" or 42"
Mannequin is about 5"4" and a size 6-8.
