Leaf brooch, green and white glass selling or jade leaf brooches

Here is an interesting pair of brooches. I am not quite sure what these are made of. At first glance I thought they were molded glass and it possible that they are. But if you look at the pieces very closely it looks like the details on these are actually carved into the surface selling rather than molded. Each pin has carved leaf veins that are very similar but not identical. The darker colour one appears to be a dark green jade colour. The lighter colour one also seems to be some natural material, maybe some sort of quartz? Each leaf brooch is bit over 2 inches or 5 cm high and the are each about 1.7 inches or 4.5 cm wide. Each has a silver tone metal back with a secure roll over safety catch. These remind me of the leaf brooches you see associated with the Elven clasps described in the Lord of the Rings novels.
