A special eye-catcher is this wonderful vintage myrtle crown in silver optics with suitable pin, which was carried on the occasion of a silver wedding (25th wedding day) in Germany about 1930.

This special piece here is a delicate bridal crown, which is decorated with beautiful leaves and one little flower. Nice old leaves and tender branches of the bridal crown wonderfully shine in silver alloy. Small pair of leaves are done in the style of myrtle branches and within the crown, one small blossom with elegant, long flower temples is decorated. By stamped veins, it seems as if real leaves had been dipped into silver.

By patina the crown gleams in different silver tones and is in blond one as well as in dark hair a dreamlike eye-cacher.

The wedding crown can be also carried as a hairband. Handled with care, branches and leaves can be bent into the desired form, so that the crown can be adapted easily to every head form. The loops at the ends of the diadem are intended for the connection. For hold a small, tender hair-band can be used. Alternatively, the crown can be fixed with small hair slides into the hairstyle or onto the veil.

The pin for the groom has a long needle at the back, with which one can quite simply pin it onto the lapel.

The meaning of myrtle:

The history of the Myrtle wreath goes back to ancient times. Myrtle was dedicated to the Roman goddess of love "Venus", in Greek mythology it was the goddess Aphrodite, known as the goddess of love and beauty. Therefore the branches of Myrtle are emblematic for love beyond death, but also for virginity, vitality and many healthy children.

This custom was introduced to Germany in the 16th century. Myrtle crowns were worn selling at weddings and wedding anniversaries, for the men, there were appropriate pins. From the Myrtle wreath of the bride, a branch was put into the ground after the wedding, so that a myrtle tree was to grow. The evergreen plant was to symbolize a lasting marital bliss.
