Product code: Silverplate Wedding Cake Knife and Fork set by Oneida Community Plate 1930s in original box with original paperwork selling

selling The pattern is called Grovesnor. It was introduced in 1921. It's listed as being a Community Plate piece, but that's really Oneida. Oneida was originally founded as joint-stock company named Oneida Community, LTD back in 1880. They started making silverplate flatware and hollowware around 1899. Most of it was under the trade name, Community Plate.

This is an old boxed set containing a cake knife and fork. These were generally sold as as Wedding cake knife and fork set. They were used by the bridge and groom and then kept as a special souvenir for the big event. Usually they were given as gift to the happy couple. This set should date to around the 1930s.
