Product code: Rare Set of 18 Gould's Tropical selling Birds Posters. The Ariel Press London. 1965 Originals.

The Gould's Tropical Birds set of 18 classical prints are a delight for framing. It is a rare find to discover this set of prints.

This classical set was released by the Ariel Press in London in about 1965 and printed by K. selling G. Lohse, Frankfurt am Main in Germany. The poly bag containing the prints is original and shows some ageing, the portfolio cover folder shows some fading on the edges but the prints are on high quality art paper stock and are in an ideal condition for framing. (I have my own opened set - just the faintest hint of ageing on the edges of a few of the prints.) Each print is 30cm wide by 40cm high (11.8 inches by 15.75 inches) which provides ample white space for effective framing.

On the back of each print there is a descriptive text about each bird originally written by John Gould himself. Every poster has an appeal of its own for bird lovers and anybody with a deep appreciation for the beaties of the natural world. The original scientific name for each species is given, along with the common name used by John Gould in his day. Here are the common names of the numbered prints.

1. Earl of Derby Parrakeet
2. Grey-breasted Aracari
3. Collared Trogon
4. Cuba Trogon
5. Giant Trogon
6. Mexican Trogon
7. Doubtful Trogon
8. Pennant's Parrakeet
9. Yellow-rumped Parrakeet
10. Beautiful Parrakeet

12. Sepoy Finch
