This marsh landscape lowcountry painting was inspired by the elusive and short time between the winter and spring. I tried to reflect that by using neutral and muted colors. This is the time selling of the year when I get hungry for colors, holding on to hope of soon to be spring full of motion, life and bright tones. While I await first blooms I learn to notice and appreciate the play between light and shadows, changing light, reflections and textures as well as color nuances that initially seems to be flat and lifeless. I learn to appreciate the beauty not only in bold colors and visual loudness, but in stillness, silence, balance and subtlety. The more I observe, the more I see how many colors and nuances surround me that I wouldn't notice otherwise if not this season. Every season is necessary for us to grow and understand our "why's" during our journey and I hope this painting reflects that.

ARTIST

Kamila Kokoszynska (BFA) is an award winning fine artist that has been painting for over 25 years. She lives in Washington, DC area and works full time as a fine artist. She participated in multiple exhibitions since 2004. Her art celebrates existence, beauty and emotion. She gets her inspiration from nature by exploring it's poetry, using elements of abstract, impressionism and expressive realism. Her extensive travels to Europe combined with influences of great masters like Van Gogh, Salvador Dali and E. Monet have strongly impacted her works. Her art is collected in U.S. and Europe.
