This is an antique, bevel-matted engraving, from an old publication, THE GRAPHIC, published in London in 1877. The prints in this series have text on the reverse, and are printed on what is called rag paper, an antique paper that is stronger and far more long lasting than the newspaper we know today. The print is matted in an off-white acid free matte and is backed by a black acid free back-board which is NOT ATTACHED TO THE PRINT, but which should be kept with the print when framed.

CONDITION: EXCELLENT / FINE -- This print is clear, clean, and bright. No foxing, tears or folds. A really fine image. Excellent definition. Nice clean, sharp lines.

This print is about 140 years old and guaranteed to be original. It's an authentic old print from the aforementioned publication, and NOT A REPRODUCTION.

The print is about 9 1/2" x 12 1/2" (including the white space/border around the print). Matted the print measures 14" x 18". This is a standard size matte that will fit into a standard size frame—no costly custom frames required.


About The Mats
