Ethnic cotton tribal textile, Karen Hmong handwoven fabric, Thailand hilltribe striped throw purple gray cream boho tunic VC11
This is a hand made fabric selling by the Karen or Karian ethnic group of Thailand and Burma and hand woven on a traditional back-strap loom.
Because of the narrow size of a back-strap loom (narrow to fit the size of the weavers back), the fabric width is correspondingly narrow and this shirt/tunic is constructed of two separate lengths of fabric, folded over at the shoulder of the garment and hand sewn together both on the sides and in the middle front and back. You may of course wear it as a tunic…or it can be re-purposed into cushions, bags, table runners, throws, etc...
The dimensions are 40 inches in length x 22 inches in width per side and without the fringe. The item is new, however, some anomalies and aberrations in the weaving and color are typical in these handmade items and should be expected.
The last four images show examples with the side seams taken out and the item used runner style.
