Brass Leaping Gazelle / Antelope / Deer Figurine / 9 Inches Tall / Brass Kingdom / Mid selling Century Modern Mantel Decor
A striking piece for any mantel or bookshelf this brass figurine of an antelope.
A striking piece for any mantel or selling bookshelf, this brass figurine of an antelope (impala maybe?) is gorgeous, but also unusual. I have never seen another example of this particular piece, but it is very similar to one made for the Frederick Cooper brand in Chicago, Illinois, which was established in the 1920s and sold high-end brass lamps and other home furnishings into the mid 20th century.
This beautiful sculpture depicts a leaping antelope, with its hind feet attached to a rough-hewn brass base. The piece is elegant and pleasing to the eye, and brings interest and sophistication to any decor.
Measuring about 9" tall, 7.5" at the widest, and about 3.5" at the base, this piece weighs about 2 pounds.
The condition is gorgeous -- I have not polished it, just dusted it with a soft cloth. Keep it's patina or shine it up -- your choice!
The base has some felt applied to it, which can be removed if desired.
Under the base is a sticker that says, "Brass Kingdom, Wingate North Carolina, Made in Korea."
Interestingly, the Frederick Cooper brand is now based in North Carolina, which is famous for its furniture and home decor
