Mid Century Industrial: Two (2) EASTMAN Kodak 1950's Kodaslide Compartment Files, Industrial Storage Boxes, Classic Old selling Slides, Heavy Metal

Great vintage condition Kodaslide Compartment File.

I found 2 of these files at a happy Estate Sale where the elderly couple was downsizing to a small cottage on their son's property. All the family was there helping, kids, grandkids and great-grands, there was big band music and great Caravan Coffee (From Pete Miller in Newberg, Oregon...truly the best!). I think I better never go to another sale...for truly all else will pale, won't they?

When I found these under a table I sort of "yipped" with joy, my dad used to have thousands of slide photos and I loved them and the projector and screen, popcorn and "Daddy's Slide Shows", he had hundreds of airplane pictures that we teased him about they all looked alike, 1950's and 1960's photos out the window of an airplane seeing mostly clouds...those were the days.

This Kodaslide Compartment File is well used, it has wear and maybe a bit of "grunge" a bit of rust from being in Oregon (we all rust here), but it smells fine, no mildew. The paper label on the outside has a little damage. This opens ok but with a bit of effort, it is not stuck...I remember my dad's opened with effort, I think that selling is because you don't want the lid to flip open to easily and have your slides burst forth.

The red fold out compartments are cool, they tip out to easily remove the slides. The paper on the inside of the lid has some penciled notes, some cross-outs and it a bit tanned. Looks very genuine as it is. Every compartment is intact and not broken. There are no bends in the metal, but a slight patina is starting to show.

Think of the unique history this file has held! A perfect gift for the Kodak slide collector! Measures about 5" wide, 6.75" deep, and just under 2.25" tall.This item is pre-owned and has normal wear of an item that has been used.
