The listing is for a set of 6 individual dessert / salad / fruit bowls.

Tapio Wirkkala often drew his inspiration from nature, especially the icy North of Finland (Ultima Thule, Gaissa, Paadar).
The Paadar series is another design where the textures of melting ice are captured in glass by Wirkkala.
The glass is crystal clear, crisp and sparkling like ice melting under the rays selling of the sun.

All pieces are in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks, fogging or any other faults.

*Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) was an exceptionally prolific and versatile Finnish artist who rose to world fame in the early 1950s. He mastered almost any material (silver, ceramics and glass to graphic art) and designed both everyday objects and unique works of art. Wirkkala drew inspiration from the nature of Lapland, being inspired, especially in his glass objects, by the forms of snow and melting ice.
He has won a large number of awards, including three gold medals at the Triennale in Milan in 1951, followed by another three in 1954.
