These TWO 19th century Victorian French white work lace collar and are completed covered with fancy embroidery stitches and minute spectacular needle work stitches fill the cut holes. Very close work and a good magnifying glass is required to see the fine detail. The smallest seed stitches I have ever seen. The base fabric is a very fine, nearly translucent cotton.

This is a treasure of early 19th century fashionable lace accessory with its designs being sophisticated. These piece was worn as a neck adornment. The design is busy, but still is graceful. Collectable Lace. This is a rare old lace to find. A great piece of lace for dressmakers to use on wedding dresses or clothing to give a romantic Victorian look with the addition of this lace. Wonderful for little girl clothes or doll clothes.

In fair to good condition, no stains, no repairs, however has some small upper edge rips as seen in last photos, and the material is strong and skillfully done. I did launder these collars years ago..

Top Photo Collar measures 11" inside neck line edge full length, and 3-1/2" deep at center.
Bottom Photo Collar measures 11-1/4" inside neck line edge full length, and 3-3/4" deep at center.

Lovely pieces of old lace and definitely worthy of a place in one's lace collection. Would look lovely basted on a velvet dress, framed, vintage sewing or simply, added to your lace collection.
