Vintage Mid Century Mauve selling Sommerso Art Glass Bowl

* Beautiful white and mauve colored art glass bowl
* Measures 9 inches wide and 3 inches tall
* It has a wide stance
* The white and mauve is cased in thick, clear glass
* The Sommerso technique involves setting "a solid color of molten glass against another layer of glass
* Maintaining an even spread of the liquid glass so it does not fade in areas when another layer of glass is placed upon the part that is colored
* Sealing the colored layer inside so that one clear layer is one side, and another clear layer of glass is on the other side
* To the eye, it appears that the colored portion is permanently encased, which it is
* It is not easy for the glass maker to achieve this effect selling and only the most talented ones have achieved very modern looking art glass that really stands out when displayed
* In great preowned condition, no chips or cracks, does have slight scratching on the inside bottom, normal for its age
