Product code: Philodendron Melanochrysum | US Seller, Fully Rooted 4" pot | Commercially selling Rare Houseplant/Terrarium Plant

*Commercially Rare* Philodendron Melanochrysum prefers a warm, humid environment ranging from 65-75°F

These robust, proud deep-green leaves have a velvety texture and bright green veins. They are very moody and flamboyant and are SURE to be noticed in any prized collection.
Each leaf can get as large as 2' (yes, FEET) in size!!! They are beautiful whether they are mature or juvenile, and they are FAST growers once established.

Fertilize once a month during the Spring and Summer, and at half-strength every other watering during Fall and Winter when plant growth slows down

After receiving your new plant, please *do not* repot it right away. Wait a minimum of one to two weeks, always keeping it out of direct light or cold drafts to avoid shock, to give the plant adequate time to acclimate to its newfound environment and all the changes that can come with that.
When you're ready to pot-- they love a rich, chunky, well-draining mix. I do a combination of quality potting soil, coarse perlite, chunky crushed charcoal (either horticultural or regular grilling charcoal chunks smashed into smaller pieces works) and manure or worm castings for time-released fertilization.

It will THRIVE with bright, *very indirect* sunlight. (Under a larger plant is perfect-- anywhere direct, strong sunlight beams cannot hit the leaves) Direct sun will burn and scar the precious leaves.

They prefer consistently moist soil, but be sure it's well-draining and not sitting in excess water.
