Natural citrine is very, very rare. The “citrine” you are most likely to see is heat treated amethyst that turns into a sunset orange color when artificially heated. While some say that it may develop similar metaphysical properties as natural citrine, it is NOT the same thing, physically or metaphysically. The very nature of the heat-treated stone (also called “Ametrine”) has been altered. Natural citrine, on the other hand, is pure in its energy, and is a very uncommon crystal.
