This beautiful Tlaquepaque redware pottery bowl dates to the 1930s. The interior and selling sides are burnished, the underside is not. The outside design is abstract, but the inside bottom of the bowl is decorated with a stylized yucca plant.
Some of the Mexican pottery from that era may be unsafe to eat certain foods from, but these are now collectible decor. It is in very good condition with some scuffs on the bottom.
Tlaquepaque is adjacent to Guadalajara in Estado Jalisco. Along with neighboring Tonala, it has been a treasure source for pottery seekers for a century.
