:::: The Pen Style ::::
The Duraclick EDC is a durable, well-balanced, everyday carry click pen that will be sure to fit your everyday life and last for years and years. Solidly crafted from raw 6061-T6 machined Aluminum, this pen is incredibly lightweight and will withstand daily wear and never chip or crack. Plus, the included ultra-reliable, all metal Schmidt SKM-88 click mechanical assembly which is precision engineered in Germany by Schmidt; for the ultimate in click mechanism durability and includes a smooth writing Parker style refill. The pen end includes a tactical designed knurling which is also featured on the pen tip; so, your pen will be easy to grip and write with. The pen clip is crafted from raw 303 Stainless Steel, so it is resilient enough to grip even the thickest materials and hold on.

:::: The Chosen Material ::::
The wood of choice is Wenge (millettia laurentii) which comes from Africa and is very dark brown in color with very close, straight grain and fine black veins.

:::: The Item Finish ::::
This pen has our “Natural Finish” applied to create a stunning appearance. This finish is achieved by using a combination of walnut oil, a shellac and oil mixture and a microcrystal wax. The oil is applied to the item and is drawn into the wood and in time will harden to a durable finish. During the sanding process which uses 9 different grits (1,500 to 12,000) of sanding pads, oil is also used as a lubricant to assist in the process. The oil absorbs the sawdust and forms a rubbing compound that smooths the wood resulting in a very smooth finish. Finally, a walnut oil and shellac friction polish combined with microaggregated microcrystal wax is applied and this process produces wax particles so small that they behave like a liquid. The heat of the friction polishing drives the oil into the wood, sets the shellac, and melts the wax, allowing it to flow over the surface of the wood and produce a high luster shine. This microcrystal wax topcoat has superior light transmission. This all translates into a bright shine and greater water resistance, which makes it a great finish for anything that will receive incidental water contact and needs a hard-durable finish. This finish gives the wood a natural feel and allows one to admire the grain and intricacies of the wood.

We are two guys who met at work in 2004 and quickly learned we had a common interest in baseball. One of us was an umpire and the other a little league coach. From there our friendship developed and we quickly became “B.F.F.s”. Over the years our interests have grown to include other sports, fishing, shooting and wood-working; more specifically wood-turning. This interest in woodturning is what led us to create JoBa Wood Designs.
Each item you see in our store is a one of a kind, unique piece. We do not mass produce any of our items. Each item we make is a different combination of shape, wood or acrylic and gloss, oil, or natural finish. No two items are ever the same which keeps the experience fresh for us and provides you a unique, personal item.
